Class of 1947......It's #65 folks! Plan for "THE EVENT OF THE YEAR"! Our gathering date is Saturday, August 11th. Our grand event luncheon is set for this date at the legendary Welshfield Inn. More plans are a foot! We hope all of you from out of town (as well as close by), will star this weekend! We have a great team of planners who will welcome your thoughts as we celebrate our hometown and CFHS on this special occasion. The Class of 1961 celebrated, the fiftieth anniversary of their graduation, the weekend after Labor Day. Karin Knutsen hosted fifty classmates and guests Friday evening. Alumni Director Emeritus Tom Mattern ‘55 hosted tours of the Philomethian School, the High School, and the Historical Room, Saturday morning. Four of our teachers joined thirty classmates and guests for lunch at the West End Bistro, on Saturday. The major event was held Saturday evening at the Chagrin Valley Country Club. Thirty four classmates and twenty guests attended. Those travelling the farthest were George March from Israel and Fritz Otti from Austria. The final event was a brunch at Bill Meyer's house on Sunday. Hopefully, a good weekend was had by all. After a final accounting of all expenses, a $500 check was presented to the Alumni Association, in honor of the eighteen classmates who have left us.

The Class of 1967's reunion committee is busy planning a 45th reunion, to be held on BlossomTime / Memorial Day weekend, 2012. The Class of 1972 - 40th Reunion Weekend will coincide with Blossom Time weekend, May 25-27. Look for the class table at the “All Class” gathering on Friday. Saturday will include tours of the middle/high school campus and Alumni room, golf outing and reunion party at the Chagrin Valley Athletic Club. We’re planning to participate in the Blossom Time parade, followed by an after-parade gathering hosted by Andy/Holly Sworan. A note to the Class of 1974 – Thank you for your outpouring of support and beautiful orange mum as my family and I cope with the sudden death of my dad. Dad was a great man, kind and gentle, respectful of everyone. He lived a good and full life to the day he died. I am grateful for your condolences as we now live on without him. The Class of 1982's 30th reunion committee is still looking for volunteers willing to help on the planning committee. We will have our first meeting sometime after the first of year. The all-class reunion is Friday, May 25 at the Town Hall and our class party is scheduled for Saturday, May 26. We are also hoping to have a family picnic on Sunday, May 27 after the parade. If any class members are coming from out of town, start making your travel plans. We'd love to have a great turnout!
Class of 1987 - Due to the closing of Trifles Cafe so that they can focus on their catering business, the 25th reunion will be held at Cucina Rustica's party room. We are looking for volunteers to do name tags, decorate, put together a slide show and possibly someone to compile a playlist on their iPod. Class of 1996 15-Year Reunion: We celebrated 15 years at the Chagrin Valley Athletic Club on Saturday evening of Blossom Weekend. Thanks to the 32 classmates and their guests that attended - we missed those of you that couldn't join us. Hope to see you at our 20th!
The Class of 1997's 15-Year Reunion is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, May 26th, 2012 at the Solon Freeway Bowling Lanes from 7pm-10pm. You and your significant other will be invited to the event - no kids. Appetizers will be provided, with a cash bar, and option to bowl! Cost is $20 per person; payment can be made via PayPal or Personal Check to Jenny Freshman Ward. Money will be expected to be pre-paid upfront, no door entry payments will be permitted, so please plan ahead. All class members that will be attending the event must RSVP to the online PunchBowl invitation - a link to the invitation is posted on the private reunion Facebook event that was sent out to all class members. The Class of 2002 is in the midst of planning a 10-year reunion for 2012 Blossom Weekend. The reunion will be held on Saturday, May 26 from 6-9pm, location TBD. During the 2011 Blossom Weekend, a reunion of former residents of the Park Lane neighborhood took place. Attending this first ever event were CFHS graduates Bobbie Falasco Furino ’74, Robin Falasco Tami ’79, Roger Falasco ’72, John Fast ’73, Mary Ann Fast Carothers ’68, Tricia Taggart Pfaff ’67, Jenny Wolf Evans ’72, Keith Wolf ’76, & Terry Zimmerlin ’70. Other CFHS graduates and former Park Lane alumni are Bill Pinkney Bistritz ’71, Matt Bistritz ’81, Eileen Burger White ’68, Mary Lou Burger ’66, Ron Falasco ’77, Bernie Keary ’58, Pat Keary Randell ’62, Steve Keary ’68, Clark Keeler ’68, Kathy Keeler ’65, Candy Salerno Badalamenti ’77, Terry Taggart ’62, & Trudy Taggart Miller ’63. Rosemary Falasco Allen '75 was anticipating the reunion but tragically passed away just weeks prior to the event from a 11-year battle with Breast Cancer. Jeff Wolf '69 was sorely missed as he passed away 10/23/10. Other CFHS Park Lane deceased alumni are Ruth Burger Novacek '70, John Keary '63, and Jon Salerno '69.
